Manifesto in Full

Hi, my name's LJ and I'm campaigning to be your VP Education 2026/27!

Throughout my time at LJMU I have been heavily involved in student voice, with responsibilities such as being a course rep, school rep and campaigner. These roles have provided me with an in depth understanding of the student voice, and the changes that the student body want to see pioneered in the future.

Being an academic society president, I have had a complex understanding of the inner workings of being a representative, and how to navigate these tasks. I feel these roles provide an insight into my passion to lead this change and ensure the student voice is at the forefront of this at all points in my journey.

Here are a few of my manifesto points I'd like to instate:

  1. More specifically catered career and volunteering fairs, and specific opportunities for academic progression.
  2. Instate sessional extended opening times for the libraries whilst work on permanent longer opening times continues, and implement more independent study areas with access to chargers and desks.
  3. Make campus spaces more comfortable and accessible for commuter students to utilise, such as a commuter lounge and short stay lockers on campus for students' course necessities.
