At JMSU, we believe every student has the power to make a difference. Whether you want to help improve your course, support underrepresented voices, or create a more inclusive community, there are lots of ways to get involved and make your voice heard. Explore how you can contribute to shaping your academic and student experience because your ideas matter, and together we can create real change.
While each role is unique, they’re both part of the same Student Voice system at LJMU:
Course Reps represent students on their course by collecting feedback and sharing it with lecturers and programme leaders.
School Reps are paid student leaders who support course reps and raise school-wide issues to senior academic staff.
Together, these roles form a network of student-led change-makers, working at different levels but sharing the same goal: to make university life better for everyone.
“Every voice matters – and your voice can spark real change.”
I’m Erin, your Vice President of Education, and I’m here to make sure students shape the learning experience at LJMU — not just live through it. But I can’t do it alone. We need passionate, curious, bold students like you to step up and be that voice for your peers.
Because representation means more than a seat at the table — it’s a chance to drive progress.
You’ll become part of a supportive student network, collaborating with staff and fellow reps to solve real issues.
You’ll develop skills in leadership, communication, and problem-solving — all while making education better for everyone.
This is your opportunity to turn feedback into action, ideas into improvements, and challenges into breakthroughs.
