Two individuals stand side by side in an indoor setting. The person on the left wears a blue shirt and holds a piece of paper. The person on the right wears a beige sweater with white floral patterns and a black skirt, holding a microphone and a piece of paper with text. The background is softly lit and neutral, suggesting a casual or semi-formal event.

Meet the Student Campaigners

Student Voice Campaigners are passionate and motivated student leaders who work with the JMSU Student Voice Team and elected officers to champion student perspectives, lead impactful campaigns, and drive positive change across campus.

They play a crucial role in raising your concerns, collaborating on solutions, and shaping the decisions that affect your university experience. Whether it’s promoting cost-of-living support, fighting for trans rights, or celebrating Black History Month. Student Voice Campaigners are at the heart of it.

What do Student Voice Campaigners do?

Student Voice Campaigners work to lead change through equity-focused campaigns and initiatives. Their responsibilities include:

  • Engaging with students and gathering feedback on key issues
  • Working directly with the JMSU Student Voice Team and elected officers
  • Supporting national and university-wide campaigns and awareness months
  • Championing causes like student safety, mental health, and inclusivity
  • Contributing to the Liberation Collective and building inclusive communities

What are Student Voice Campaigners?

Student Voice Campaigners are student leaders who represent the diverse experiences and needs of LJMU students. They work across campus to amplify voices that are often underrepresented and lead campaigns that promote fairness, safety, and inclusion.

They support key initiatives such as Black History Month, LGBT+ History Month, and Islamophobia Awareness Month, while also addressing broader student priorities like cost-of-living, mental health, and trans rights.

This is a paid student leadership role, funded by JMSU to support the valuable work they do and help students thrive.

How do they differ from Course Reps?

Course Reps are volunteers who represent their course peers and raise course-specific academic concerns to programme leaders and academic staff.

In contrast, Student Voice Campaigners are paid student leaders who work on cross-campus issues that affect the wider student body. They lead campaigns, engage with diverse communities, and focus on equity, liberation, and university-wide change.
