Course Reps are students on your course who represent your academic experience and feedback to the University. They work with staff and the Students’ Union to help improve teaching, assessment, and learning on your course.

What Does a Course Rep Do?

Your Course Rep collects feedback from students on their course and raises it through formal channels such as staff–student meetings and academic forums. They help make sure student voices are heard and acted upon.

When Should I Contact My Course Rep?

You may want to speak to your Course Rep if you have feedback or concerns about:

  • Teaching, learning, or course content
  • Assessment methods or feedback
  • Timetabling or delivery issues
  • Resources, facilities, or placement experiences
  • Anything affecting the academic experience of your course cohort

What Happens Next?

Once you’ve found the name of your Course Rep, you might be wondering how to get in touch.

To protect student privacy and comply with GDPR, we don’t display personal email addresses publicly. However, you can still contact your Course Rep easily using your LJMU email account.

When you’re logged in to your University email, start typing your Course Rep’s name into the To field of a new email. Their details will automatically appear from the University address directory.

This ensures your message reaches the right person while keeping everyone’s information safe and secure.

Can’t Find Your Course?

If you can’t find your course listed, it usually means that no one has stepped forward to become a Course Rep yet.

This is a great opportunity to make a real difference. By becoming a Course Rep, you won’t just get your own voice heard - you’ll also be the voice for others on your course.

You’ll help raise issues, shape improvements, and make sure student feedback reaches the people who can create change.
