Manifesto in Full

As an M.Sc. Construction Project Management student, I understand the pressures of balancing academic demands with personal wellbeing, and I'm running for VP Community and Wellbeing because I believe mental health is the key to staying motivated, happy, and reaching our full potential at LJMU. My extensive experience volunteering and organizing for suicide prevention organizations has shown me firsthand how critical accessible mental health support is, and I'm committed to bringing that expertise to our campus. If elected, I will establish regular mental health awareness sessions across LJMU, creating safe spaces where every student can learn, share, and access support without stigma. Beyond mental health, I'll tackle the everyday challenges that affect your wellbeing—from advocating for improved accommodation standards and addressing safety concerns to enhancing transport links that keep our community connected. I've personally navigated accommodation and transport issues, so I know these aren't minor inconveniences; they're barriers to your success and happiness. My approachable nature and strong listening skills mean I'll be accessible to every student through regular drop-in sessions, ensuring your voice is genuinely heard and acted upon. Whether you're struggling with housing, feeling isolated, or need someone to talk to, I'll be there. This isn't just about policy for me—it's personal. I want LJMU to be a place where every student feels safe, supported, and truly connected to our community. Together, we can make wellbeing our priority.
