Manifesto in Full

Hi! My name is Marc; a 3rd Year Criminology and Psychology Student and I am running for President! To ensure every student feels supported, included and empowered to make the most of their university experience. I aim to achieve this by accomplishing my commitments and using my prior experience in previous Student Council positions and project co-ordinator roles.

I offer commitments three, if elected I should be:

1. Student Life & Adulting

Moving away from home can be daunting, especially if it’s to a new city. I wish to introduce accessible workshops and practical guidance covering many things. Budgeting, cooking, tenancy rights, and other essential life skills. This will provide students the opportunity to feel more confident managing their independent lives alongside their studies.

2. Diversity and Inclusion

Regardless of background or identity, every student deserves to feel heard and valued. I look to utilise platforms for underrepresented voices and ensure decision-making processes are inclusive and representative to our community as a whole. Everyone deserves to feel like they belong.

3. Maximising Student Resources

As students we invest significantly in our education, yet many of us remain unaware of the full range of support available to us. I strive to improve communication, visibility and signposting of both course-specific and general resources so every student can access and utilise what they are entitled to.

Leadership is about action, listening to others and delivery of promises. I for one am ready to work across our university to ensure our experience is fulfilling, inclusive and worthwhile.
