Manifesto in Full

My name is Holly and I'm running for VP of Community and Wellbeing!

My primary concerns are improving night out safety, providing better access to wellbeing support, and having support available for sexual health and reproductive health. If elected, my main goals are to:

  • Provide clearer guidance on student wellbeing support and mental health resources available at the Student Union. It is confusing and can cause distressing delays for students who need immediate help when they don’t know who to go to, or what services are available.

  • Bring back the Night Time Guardian scheme to keep students safe on nights out. They're needed now more than ever with rising reports of drug use and spiking - it’s something that can benefit the entire city not just LJMU! Other safety and harm prevention measures I want to provide are drug testing kits, anti-spiking kits and night out safety packages - especially during Freshers Week and Halloween!

  • Make sure the promises outlined in the Pro Choice Campus policy are carried out. It’s a policy I personally proposed to the Student Union and I’m passionate about seeing it in action. Every student should have access to unbiased support surrounding the options available for sexual health, reproductive health, and pregnancy.

I've already helped to change and improve JMSU policies surrounding student welfare, and I want to keep doing more of that!
