Yoga is a holistic practice that blends physical postures, breath control, and mindfulness to promote strength, flexibility, and mental clarity. Whether you’re seeking relaxation, improved fitness, or spiritual growth, yoga offers a path to balance body and mind. It’s suitable for all levels and ages, making it a timeless practice for wellness and self-discovery.
Our Yoga Community welcomes everyone — from complete beginners exploring their first poses to experienced practitioners deepening their practice. We offer regular classes, workshops, and meditation sessions designed to nurture your physical and mental wellbeing. More than just exercise, we’re a supportive space where you can connect, grow, and find peace. Roll out your mat — it’s more than yoga, it’s a lifestyle.

Welcome to The Zen Den Yoga Society at LJMU—a calm and inclusive space where students of all abilities can come together to relax, move, and recharge. Whether you're brand new to yoga or already have some experience, everyone is welcome here. We’re more than just a yoga class—we’re a supportive community focused on mindfulness, movement, and making meaningful connections. Sessions are relaxed, non-judgmental, and filled with positive energy to help you unwind from university life while having fun.
We meet twice a week to practise yoga and meditation together. Sessions take place on Fridays from 5:00pm to 6:00pm in the Student Life Building activity space, and Sundays from 4:00pm to 5:00pm in Studio 2 at the LJMU Gym. Alongside regular classes, we plan to host weekly socials, take part in charity events, organise raffles and giveaways, and collaborate with other societies.
The Zen Den is all about connection, balance, and enjoyment. It’s a place where you can express yourself freely, learn different styles of yoga, and feel supported as you develop your practice. Whether you’re looking to reduce stress, stay active, or simply find your flow in a positive environment, you’ll find it here. From yoga retreats and day trips to group socials and creative collabs, there’s always something to look forward to. Come join us—you’ll leave each session feeling better than when you arrived.
Each sports club is led by a student committee responsible for running the club, organising activities, and representing members. The committee is chaired by the Club Captain, with support from other elected roles.
