About Us

The LJMU Pokémon Society is a vibrant and inclusive community of Pokémon enthusiasts at Liverpool John Moores University. Whether you're a seasoned Pokémon Trainer or just starting your journey, our society is the perfect place to connect with like-minded individuals who share your passion for all things Pokémon. Our mission is to create a dynamic and enjoyable atmosphere, uniting students through their shared passion for the Pokémon universe. We are committed to fostering a welcoming and engaging environment where everyone can come together to celebrate and immerse themselves in the world of Pokémon.

We also partnered up with the Inter-Uni Pokemon Society (I-UPS). The I-UPS helps us connect with the Pokémon Societies in other universities across the UK. They host draft leagues and other battle style tournaments, so expect a lot with this!

Key Information (When, Where and How Often We Meet)

Welcome to the world of the LJMU Pokémon Society! We offer an exciting range of social activities and events throughout the academic year. From battling and trading Pokémon, to participating in thrilling Pokémon GO adventures around the campus, there's always something exciting happening for our members. Our society is open to students from all disciplines, making it a fantastic opportunity to meet new people and form lasting friendships while enjoying your favorite Pokémon games and activities. We are very proud winners of the JMSU Member's Choice Award 2023/24, so you know you are in good company with us. Your very own Pokémon adventure is about to begin!

Weekly meetings will be held in the LJMU Student Life Building on Mondays 6-8pm. In these meetings there will be a variety of different social activities, such as:

• Pokémon Go Events - Raid Hour, Elite Raids, Spotlight and seasonal events
• The Battle Tower - Pokémon Showdown/VGC type battles with monthly themes and rulesets
• Maingame Series - challenge the world of Pokémon together in the latest Switch games
• Trading Card Game (TCG)
• Crafty and creative activity socials 
• Party games and quiz socials - with prizes for the winners!
• Drinking socials/nights out

Collaborations with other LJMU Societies - we have a close network with other general interest/hobby societies. 


 

We will be also be taking part of some of the Pokémon Go Community events outside of the Student Life Building, such as:

•    Pokémon Go Community Days
•    Pokémon Go Fest/Go Tour
•    Elite/Shadow Raids
...and many more to offer!
