The Menstrual Health & Wellbeing Society is a student-led community dedicated to breaking stigma, raising awareness, and supporting menstrual health and wellbeing on campus. We provide an inclusive and respectful space for anyone who experiences periods, as well as allies who want to learn and support menstrual equity.
Our society works to promote open, informed conversations around menstruation, reproductive health, and wellbeing through education, advocacy, and community support. We host workshops, discussion circles, awareness campaigns, and collaborative events with health and wellbeing services, aiming to empower students with knowledge while challenging misconceptions and taboos surrounding periods and menstrual health.
Membership is open to all students of all genders, and participation is always optional and respectful. We run events throughout the academic year with support from the Student Union and wellbeing grants, alongside fundraising for menstrual equity initiatives. Activities include educational sessions, wellbeing-focused events, campaign work, and partnerships with local and national organisations. Updates are shared via social media and mailing lists to keep members informed and involved.
Joining the Menstrual Health & Wellbeing Society means being part of a compassionate and proactive community that values health, dignity, and inclusion. Members gain access to supportive spaces, practical information, and opportunities to contribute to positive change on campus and beyond. Whether you’re seeking support, education, or a way to advocate for menstrual equity, this society offers a welcoming place to learn, connect, and make an impact.
Each society is led by a student committee responsible for running the society, organising activities, and representing its members. The committee is chaired by the Society President, with support from other elected roles.
