About Our Group

Our Choir Society is an amateur choir which welcomes anyone of any musical ability to take part in our university choir.

Each academic year, we aim to put on a small concert at the end of each semester, showcasing our members' talent and hard work, in both our main choir and chamber choir. We encourage solos and small groups of our members to perform. Proceeds from ticket sales go towards a chosen charity. 

This year we would love to see as many new faces as possible. We usually rehearse on a Tuesday and Thursday evening from 6.30 pm - 7.30 pm. We try to keep to this as much as we can but nearer to performances additional sessions/changes in sessions can also be put into place.

Key Information

The society contains our open choir, available to anyone who wishes to join, and an auditioned optional chamber choir. Chamber choir will usually run directly after a choir session on either day respectively. The Chamber choir sings more advanced pieces and is dependent on numbers whether it runs. 

Membership prices are £15 for the whole year and this helps to cover the costs of any music or equipment needed throughout the year as well as some socials!

We sing a wide range of music and are very open to suggestions. Last year we covered everything from musicals to pop/rock.

We are a kind and supportive group and become one big family by the end and we would love to welcome new members!
