Think of us as your launchpad into the world of business, numbers, and networking. We’re more than just a student group—we’re a dynamic hub where ambition meets opportunity. Whether you’re looking to deepen your understanding of finance, explore career routes, or just meet like-minded students, the Accounting & Finance Society is here to make that journey more exciting, connected, and rewarding.
Welcome to the Accounting & Finance Society at Liverpool John Moores University—a student-led community designed for aspiring accountants, financial analysts, entrepreneurs, and everyone in between. As a newly formed society, our mission is to build a vibrant and inclusive environment where academic curiosity meets real-world opportunity.
Whether you're a first-year student looking to make connections or a final-year student preparing for graduate roles, this is your space to grow. We aim to bridge the gap between classroom learning and industry insights by hosting guest speakers, networking events, skill-building workshops, and career-focused sessions. Above all, we’re here to support one another and celebrate the journey—because success is always better when shared.
We’re setting the tone for a productive and exciting year with regular society meet-ups, socials, and industry-focused events. Our sessions are currently being scheduled, and we’ll be announcing a consistent timetable very soon.
Here’s what you can expect:
Frequency: Bi-weekly events and socials throughout term time
Location: LJMU campus venues (TBC) and occasional off-campus events or industry visits
Formats: Workshops, panel discussions, employer Q&As, LinkedIn clinics, socials, and revision sessions
Keep an eye on our Instagram and mailing list for event announcements and registration info!
Joining the Accounting & Finance Society isn’t just a great addition to your CV—it’s an investment in your personal and professional future. Here’s what makes us different:

A Place to Belong
This is your space to grow—not just academically, but socially too. Expect game nights, quiz evenings, pizza parties, and even collaborative events with other societies.
Each society is led by a student committee responsible for running the society, organising activities, and representing its members. The committee is chaired by the Society President, with support from other elected roles.
