Hi! I’m Ciara and I’m running to be your VP Education 2026/2027! 

I plan to promote inclusivity and equity in your education at LJMU through these points: 

Clarity: Clearer AI Usage policies - It can be so confusing when different modules have different rules on whether or not you can use AI and if it’s limited to generative AI or assistive AI. I propose to help each school develop their tailored AI usage guidelines for module leaders to consider. 

Care: Accessibility in Lectures - Lectures are not as accessible to everyone as they could be, a lot of lectures aren’t recorded and staff and students may not be aware of services that can help make these lectures accessible such as live subtitles during lectures. I plan to promote these accessible features as well as having meetings with schools to bring forth a recorded lecture policy with conditions. 

Change: Promoting Practical Education - I hope to offer sessions partnered with charities, societiesand companies to provide practical education preparing you for the real working world. This could include cybersecurity awareness, employability and application tips, and other sessions students may want. These sessions would hopefully allow people to learn more general skills and come with a certificate to list on your CV and LinkedIn to push your professional profile that one step further.
