Student Photography & Videography Volunteer

Details Hide[-]

Afloat Theatre is looking for students interested in photography, videography and digital storytelling to help us capture our creative work and share it with wider audiences. You'll have the opportunity to document theatre performances, workshops, rehearsals, community projects, events and behind-the-scenes activity.

You could get involved in:

  • Photography at performances, workshops and events.
  • Filming behind-the-scenes footage.
  • Creating short videos and reels for Instagram and other platforms.
  • Capturing interviews, participant reflections and creative processes where appropriate.
  • Editing photographs and video for digital use.
  • Creating content that introduces audiences to Afloat and our projects.
  • Building a bank of high-quality visual content for our website and social media.
  • Experimenting with different ways of telling stories visually.

You don't need professional experience. You might be studying photography, film, media, digital content, marketing, theatre or another creative subject, or simply have a passion for taking photographs and making videos.

We're particularly interested in students who want to experiment, develop their style and build a portfolio of real-world creative work.

You'll work closely with the Afloat team, with support and guidance around what we need captured, while having space to bring your own creative ideas and perspective. We have a DJI pocket camera and mic so you won't necessarily need any equipment.
