We are the Liverpool City Region’s largest and oldest LGBTQ+ charity – engaged in creating a brighter healthier future for our communities.
We’re there for people when they need us most. We provide practical and emotional support, camaraderie and connection to:
We do not shy away from tackling injustice, fighting discrimination and addressing inequalities. We campaign locally, regionally and nationally with the aim of creating a fairer and more equitable society for our community.
We collaborate with others to increase our reach and impact. Our work is insight and data-driven and our programmes are co-developed with those we serve.
We are building Team Sahir; our new army of volunteers who can help us raise money, raise awareness and secure Sahir’s future.
We need people to help run stalls, shake collection tins, set up events, welcome guests, distribute materials, support fundraising activities and spread the word about Sahir.
We also need volunteers to help support our Peer Support groups across all five boroughs of the Liverpool City Region, helping us create welcoming, friendly and supportive spaces for the people who use our services.
You don’t need specialist skills or lots of spare time. Whether you can give us a few hours at one event, help at a support group or want to become a regular volunteer, there is a place for you in Team Sahir.
If you have lived experience related to our work and want to support others, this role is for you. You’ll help facilitate safe and welcoming peer support groups, providing a space where people can connect, share experiences, and find strength in each other.
Have highlighted Crosby as a location example but support groups are also held in the City Centre, Wirral, St Helens and Knowsley.
