We are looking for friendly and reliable volunteers to help with welcoming customers into the Pantry as well as assisting them with their shopping. Pantry Assistant volunteers support customers (members) with their shopping by keeping count of their hearts and diamonds, suggesting meal ideas and carrying their basket if assistance is required.

Expected Volunteer Duties

During Session

Welcome Members to the Pantry and offer assistance with their shop. Point out what’s available, highlighting special offers or items that must go that day. Check Member has their shopping bag. Help Member to place their items in the trolley/ basket Check that Member has not taken more than their allowance. Offer to help member pack their bags if required Inform session lead if more stock is needed from the back room.

After Session

Remove all items that will not last until next week. Put all fruit and veg, cereal boxes and other items vulnerable to pests into storage boxes. Restock shelves if required. Tidy and clear the pantry area- with all paperwork, t-shirts, aprons, labels Work as part of a friendly team of staff and volunteers throughout

Suggested Time Commitment Nugent Pantry runs every Tuesday 1-3pm at St Anne’s Church, Overbury Street, Edge Hill, Liverpool, L7 3HJ. We are looking for 2- 3 hours commitment each week. This could be helping set up or close down Nugent Pantry. Qualities, Experience & Skills Good communication and customer care skills would be a real asset in this role. Patience and a welcoming and helpful attitude is an asset
