TTG is LJMU’s hub for all things board, card, and dice! Whether you're a seasoned dungeon master, a casual card-slinger, or brand new to the world of tabletop gaming, this society offers a fun, inclusive space to explore an ever-growing collection of games, meet new people, and roll for initiative. It's not just a society — it’s a player-powered community.

About Us

Welcome to TTG — the Tabletop Gaming Society at LJMU! We’re a passionate, open-minded group of students who come together each week to celebrate the world of board games, role-playing adventures, and everything in between.

Whether you’re into fast-paced party games like Uno, immersive strategy titles like Catan or Betrayal at House on the Hill, or the fantasy realms of Dungeons & Dragons, you’ll find your niche here. Our society has recently invested in a wide range of brand-new games that are completely free for members to use, so there's always something new to try. Got your own game? Bring it along and share it with the group — we love discovering new favourites.

We’re not just about rolling dice and drawing cards — we’re about community. TTG is a space to meet like-minded players, make new friends, and unwind after a long day of lectures. Whether you're a complete beginner or a game-night veteran, everyone is welcome at the table.

Key Information

Our society meets every Tuesday evening from 6pm to 9pm in Room 207 of the Student Life Building. During these sessions, members are free to use our growing collection of games, explore new gameplay styles, or simply enjoy some downtime with friends. Alongside our weekly sessions, we also run a dedicated Dungeons & Dragons campaign with multiple groups playing each week, making it easy to jump into a world of storytelling and adventure no matter your experience level. We also organise themed events and socials throughout the year to keep things fresh and fun — all you need to do is show up and get involved.

Why Us?

At TTG, we believe tabletop gaming should be accessible, friendly, and fun. That’s why membership is completely free this year, giving you access to our full game library, weekly meetups, and regular socials without any extra cost.

We’ve built a space that welcomes everyone, regardless of experience or confidence. Whether you’ve never rolled a D20 before or you run monthly game nights at home, you’ll be greeted with enthusiasm and support. This society is about more than games — it’s about creating connections, escaping into new worlds, and having a great time along the way. If you’re looking to be part of a laid-back, open community of gamers, this is the place for you.

So pull up a chair, shuffle the deck, and let the games begin.

Committee

Each society is led by a student committee responsible for running the society, organising activities, and representing its members. The committee is chaired by the Society President, with support from other elected roles.
