Swimming is a timeless and invigorating sport that combines fitness, technique, and mental calm. Whether you’re gliding through the pool or building endurance for open water, swimming offers a full-body workout that improves strength, flexibility, and cardiovascular health. It’s a skill for life that suits all ages and abilities, making it perfect for fitness, competition, or relaxation.
Our Swimming Club welcomes swimmers of every level — from complete beginners learning the basics to experienced athletes training for competitions. We offer regular sessions, technique coaching, and social swim events to help you build confidence and enjoy every stroke. Beyond the lanes, we’re a supportive and friendly community united by a love of the water. Dive in — it’s more than swimming, it’s a way of life.

Liverpool John Moores University Swim Team is an inclusive and welcoming club for swimmers of all abilities. Whether you're a competitive swimmer or prefer a more relaxed, social approach, our team offers the chance to be part of a friendly and supportive community. Over the years, we’ve grown steadily in size and strength, with more members joining to contribute to our continued success.
We train twice a week at Everton Park Lifestyles Centre, holding sessions on Monday evenings from 7 to 9 and Wednesday afternoons from 3:30 to 5. All sessions are open to swimmers of every ability, with lanes divided to suit different skill levels, ensuring a productive and enjoyable experience for everyone. As a team, we compete in the BUCS short and long course competitions, the British University Swimming League, and this year we’re proud to be taking part in a number of charity galas and fundraising events.
Joining our swim team is the perfect way to stay active while making new friends from across the university. Whether you want to continue competing at a high level or simply enjoy swimming as a fun, social outlet, we offer something for everyone. Our team spirit, welcoming atmosphere, and shared passion for the sport make it a great place to belong during your time at university.
