Ski and Snowboard (JUSST) is an exciting and adventurous way to experience the mountains, combining skill, balance, and the thrill of carving through fresh powder. Whether you’re gliding down groomed slopes or exploring off-piste terrain, these winter sports offer a perfect mix of adrenaline and connection with nature. Whether you’re aiming to learn, improve, or simply have fun on the snow, JUSST brings the passion for winter sports to life.
Our Ski and Snowboard (JUSST) community welcomes riders of all levels — from first-timers finding their balance to seasoned shredders mastering tricks and speed. We organise regular trips, lessons, and social events designed to build skills and confidence while creating unforgettable memories. More than just a sport, we’re a welcoming tribe who share a love for the mountains and the freedom of the ride. Strap in — it’s more than skiing and snowboarding, it’s a lifestyle.

Welcome to JUSST – the Liverpool John Moores University Snowsports Team! Whether you're an experienced skier or boarder, completely new to the slopes, or just here for the après, there's a place for you in our club. We’re all about skiing, snowboarding, making memories, and bringing together students for one epic year. From regular training sessions and dry slope races to unforgettable nights out and our legendary annual ski trip, JUSST offers something for every level of ability and interest. We’re a fun, inclusive community where lifelong friendships are made on and off the slopes.
We train every Wednesday at Stoke Dry Slope, meeting at 2:15pm at the Student Life Building and returning around 7:30pm. Transport is provided, and those who can drive may be eligible for a discounted ticket. All necessary equipment, including skis or snowboards and helmets, is available to hire for free with your ticket – you’ll just need to bring ski socks or thick socks, a long-sleeve top or jumper, appropriate trousers or joggers, and a pair of gloves. Free ski and training sessions typically cost between £10–£14, while lessons are slightly more at around £14–£18. Prices depend on how many people book, so the more friends you bring, the better! Beginners are very welcome, and we recommend at least three lessons to get comfortable on the slopes. Tickets are released weekly on Sundays or Monday mornings via the JMSU website and in our WhatsApp group – they tend to sell out quickly, so don’t miss out! Keep an eye on our Instagram and WhatsApp for updates and changes to the training schedule.
We’re not just a ski club – we’re a family. Whether you’re here to learn, train, race, or party, there’s a spot for you at JUSST. We compete in events like KINGS and BUDS and proudly helped Liverpool win the league last year. Even if you’re not racing, the energy and excitement of these events is unreal. And if competitions aren’t your thing, our Wednesday night socials are a weekly highlight. With themes, prizes, and some of Liverpool’s best bars and clubs on the agenda, you’ll quickly find your crew.
Each sports club is led by a student committee responsible for running the club, organising activities, and representing members. The committee is chaired by the Club Captain, with support from other elected roles.
