More than just a society, it’s a movement to rebuild and energize Liverpool’s young metal scene while creating a safe, inclusive space where anyone with a passion for heavy music can connect, express themselves, and experience all the local scene has to offer.

About Us
At R.A.M.S, we are all about sharing our passion for heavy music with eachother, embracing a wide range of subgenres and exploring how they have shaped the scene as we know it today. Our society is built on the idea of creating a supportive environment where everyone from hardcore metalheads. to curious newcomers can feel at home.
ANTI-GATEKEEPING is at our heart, and rather than policing the scene- we encourage recommendations and opening doors to get more people involved in what we love.
Music is everything to us, and it inspires everyone- so we work hard to foster a strong community of likeminded individuals who want to share their love for fat meaty riffs, gutterals, or going nuts in the pit. Whether it’s through live gigs, club nights, karaoke sessions, or creative socials like patch sewing and music quizzes, we aim to bring people together, build lasting friendships, and make university life break the mould and be as memorable as possible!
Liverpool’s metal scene has immense potential, and R.A.M.S is dedicated to rebuilding and strengthening it one social gathering at a time. Join us to be a part of the metal revolution.
Key Information
We meet every Wednesday and do a bit of everything from pub socials and themed club nights, to gigs and karaoke events. We have a great relationship with the best alternative venues in the city- so can guarantee the best nights, and the best student deals in all our favourite venues! Not into pubs and gigs? No bother- as we also host movie nights and quizzes, giving something for everyone.
We love to work alongside other societies too, to ensure our events can be as fun and as inclusive as possible- nobody is ever left out at R.A.M.S.

Committee
Each society is led by a student committee responsible for running the society, organising activities, and representing its members. The committee is chaired by the Society President, with support from other elected roles.
