We chose to do this to raise awareness of the cause and to offer a support to those who need it. By not only creating this society but allowing others to join, it will develop their university life by gaining more experiences. We will be able to meet other people who support the same course as us, make new friends by this and expand our interests and skills. Not only this but we are aware that by joining a society it will have a positive impact on our futures, especially those who wish to have this aspect in their career. Supporting the right to make decisions about one's body is fundamental. Being part of a pro-choice society allows you to advocate for policies and practices that respect women's ability to make choices about their own health and future. Many people face complex, personal, and sometimes heartbreaking situations regarding pregnancy. Being apart of pro-choice society means you can support people during difficult times for their right to choose what is best for them. It's about offering empathy and respect, rather than judgment. We would like to support those who may become pregnant whilst at university or even offer help advice for in the future. One of the biggest stigmas around abortions is that they will be alone and have no one, this is something we would like to change. No one deserves to feel alone or judged for what they choose to do with their own body. 46% of girls ages 11-24, aren't aware of the support and choices they can are when getting pregnant, that's 46% too much, and even by us cresting our small society, that's still making a massive impact. |
