About Our Group |
Welcome to the home of the Liverpool John Moores University Pool and Snooker society, the fastest growing sports society at JMU! 📈
Pool and snooker is often seen as a "bloke's" sport but as a society we strongly encourage both men and women to get involved, with our first-ever women's pool team showing the rest of us up by getting the furthest in any BUCS team event than any past JMU team. This being said, we are not all about tournaments, the core of our society is to provide a friendly and fun environment for players of all skill levels every week. You do not need to bring your own cue as Riley's has plenty available, although you will impress us if you do.
Join and keep an eye on this group to keep up to date with all of the club's activities throughout the year 📅

Key Information (When, Where, and How Often We Meet) |
Our society meets up at Riley's Sports Bar, Bolton Street L3 5LX, underneath Grand Central accommodation. We meet every Thursday at 6 in the evening until around 10. The less boring of us will then usually go out for a few drinks after at the local watering hole.

Why Should You Join Us? |
The Pool and Snooker club is a great balance between the social and competitive aspects of a sports society. While we do have a serious pool and snooker players with our eyes on winning tournaments that we enter, we have plenty of members of all skill levels who come each week for a few drinks and a good laugh. As a society we pride ourselves on being a friendly and approachable bunch with people of all sorts of varying degrees and backgrounds.
If you are looking for competition then the aim of the club for the 2024/2025 academic year is to send competitive teams down to the major BUCS events of the year:
1) Eight-Ball Championships in Stoke 🎱 2) BUCS Snooker Championship in Woking🔴 3) Nine-Ball Championships in Telford ⚪️
