The Politics Society is the hub for students who are passionate about politics, public policy, and civic engagement. Whether you study politics or just have an interest in current affairs, our society gives you a platform to explore, debate, and act. We will do a mixture of events, from chilled socials to engaging debates and events.
We are a student organisation that fosters political discourse and learning through events such as speaker panels, debates, workshops, and collaborations with political organisations. Our aim is to promote informed discussion, critical thinking, and greater awareness of both local and global political issues.
The Politics Society is open to all students regardless of discipline or political stance. Membership includes access to our regular meetings, events, guest speakers and resources.
As a member of Politics Society, you’ll gain opportunities to develop your debating, analytical, and leadership skills; engage directly with political issues and guest speakers; connect with peers who share your interests; and add meaningful experience to your campus life and CV.
Each society is led by a student committee responsible for running the society, organising activities, and representing its members. The committee is chaired by the Society President, with support from other elected roles.
