About Our Group

Whether you are looking to gain confidence, feel good about yourself, make friends, or just have fun, then pole fitness could be the society for you! Pole fitness is one of the best forms of dance for burning calories and will help you tone and strengthen muscles all over your body. Best of all, during sessions, you do not even feel as though you're exercising!

We are an inclusive society that welcomes members of all levels, whether you are a complete beginner or have plenty of pole experience. We run courses to help you learn pole fitness moves, and weekly 'drop-in' sessions, where you can practice, improve, and meet other members of all abilities.

We currently run our sessions at two different levels:

- Beginner

- Intermediate

We allow you to select whichever class you feel most comfortable in!

There will be plenty of socials of a variety of themes, and we aim to organise pole trips to further introduce you to the world of pole (e.g. pole competitions/ conventions).

Key Information

1. Standard membership

Our standard membership includes access to socials and drop-in sessions for the whole academic year. The drop-in sessions run every Friday at 8:45 and are self-led, however a committee member will be there if you need any help. Members tend to use this time to come and practise either what they have learnt in class or what they already know.

2. 8 week pole course

(Note: this is an add-on and you will have to buy the other membership to be able to come to this course.)

This course includes weekly classes taught by a pole instructor during Semester 1. This is usually bought by novices who would like to learn how to safely perform moves on the pole by a professional. We also run intermediate classes for those who are already familiar with the sport.

WARNING: The course membership has limited spaces and will sell out within minutes! So make sure you keep an eye out on our Instagram page for the release date and time.

For those who miss out on purchasing the course, we will be running another one in semester 2 :)

All of our sessions will be held in the LJMU Sports Building, which is right next to the Student Life Building on Copperas Hill.
