The LJMU Poker Society is a welcoming community of students who come together weekly to enjoy the thrill and strategy of Texas Hold ’Em poker in a friendly, inclusive environment. About Us
At the heart of the LJMU Poker Society is a passion for Texas Hold ’Em poker and the vibrant social connections that come from playing together regularly. Our society meets every week to enjoy friendly poker sessions where all skill levels are welcome. We take pride in promoting inclusivity, especially advocating for women’s participation in poker, and we’re actively working to grow a diverse and balanced player base. Since playing with cash is not permitted, we operate a weekly league where members earn points, and the highest scorers win vouchers, keeping the competition both fun and fair. On top of our regular sessions, we occasionally host tournaments that offer extra excitement and additional chances to win prizes. Our gatherings take place in the Student Life Building, providing a relaxed and comfortable setting to meet fellow poker enthusiasts and sharpen your game.
Key Information
Our poker nights are held every Tuesday from 7 pm to 9 pm in Room 208 of the new Student Life Building. These weekly sessions create a dependable schedule for members to come together, play, and enjoy a shared passion. We maintain a structured league format with point-based scoring to keep the spirit of competition alive without the need for cash stakes, making it accessible and pressure-free. Special tournaments and social events are also arranged from time to time to add variety and excitement to the calendar. Committee
