Whether you’re an experienced performer, a backstage wizard, or someone who just loves the buzz of the theatre, the JMSU Performing Arts Society is your home for all things drama, dance, music, and more. We bring together students from all courses and backgrounds to create, collaborate, and celebrate the performing arts — on stage, behind the scenes, and everywhere in between.
The Performing Arts Society is a friendly, inclusive community for anyone with a passion for performance. We put on regular workshops, rehearsals, and shows throughout the year, covering everything from acting and improvisation to musical theatre, dance, and technical production. Our members range from complete beginners to seasoned performers — all united by a shared love for storytelling, creativity, and the thrill of live performance.
Take a look at our Instagram page above to find out more about where, when and how you can get involved in our society!
Joining the Performing Arts Society means joining a supportive, inspiring group of people who want you to shine. You’ll build confidence, learn new skills, and make friends who share your love for the arts. Whether you want to perform, direct, choreograph, design sets, or just enjoy the buzz of creative collaboration, there’s a role for you here. Plus, our shows and socials are some of the liveliest events on campus — and we can’t wait for you to be part of them.
Each society is led by a student committee responsible for running the society, organising activities, and representing its members. The committee is chaired by the Society President, with support from other elected roles.
