Contact Us

Netball is a fast-moving and highly strategic team sport that combines quick passing, sharp shooting, and strong teamwork. Played with seven players on each side, the goal is to score by shooting the ball through the opponent’s hoop. It’s a game full of skill, speed, and stamina — with lots of running, catching, and clever positioning.

Our Netball team welcomes players of all abilities — whether you’re new to the sport or have played before. It’s a fantastic way to improve your fitness, build new skills, and be part of a supportive and friendly team. We train regularly, compete in student leagues and tournaments, and enjoy social events throughout the year. Join us — it’s more than just a game, it’s a community.

About Us

LJMU Netball is one of the largest and most successful sports clubs at the university, proudly holding the title of Club of the Year 2023. With seven BUCS teams competing across six leagues, our club has celebrated a phenomenal season—earning league promotions, winning titles, and reaching the finals of the Conference Cup while taking home the Conference Shield. We are more than just a team—we’re one big family, and we’re excited to welcome as many freshers as possible into our community this year. Our goal is for each of our teams to continue thriving in their respective leagues, building on past achievements while promoting inclusivity and participation across all levels. To support this, we’ve introduced both Casual Netball and an intramural league for those wanting a relaxed, no-pressure environment to meet new people and enjoy the game in a fun, social setting.

Key Information

All LJMU Netball Club members train every Monday evening from 6:00pm to 10:20pm at the LJMU Sports Hall. Each team has specific time slots, so members should get in touch for details. In addition to Monday training, our first and second teams also attend dedicated strength and conditioning sessions at the City Campus, with timings to be confirmed. Socials are a key part of our club culture, held every Wednesday evening after BUCS fixtures. Organised by our social secretaries Orla, Em, and Halle, these events range from nights out and team dinners to sober socials like group runs, making sure there's something for everyone. We also take part in an annual sports tour, which is a highlight of the year and open to the entire club.

Why Us?

As one of the most reputable and ambitious clubs at LJMU, we offer the chance to compete at various levels, improve your game through top-tier coaching, and become part of a close-knit, supportive team environment. Our two experienced coaches are dedicated to helping you develop your netball skills, whether you're an experienced player or completely new to the sport. With seven competitive teams and a growing development squad, there’s a place for everyone—no matter your ability. Beyond the court, you’ll build lasting friendships, experience unforgettable moments, and be part of a club that values excellence, community, and fun. Join LJMU Netball and make the most of your university experience, on and off the court.
