Women’s Lacrosse is a fast, skilful, and exhilarating team sport that combines speed, agility,
and precision. Played with a stick and ball, the aim is to work as a team to move the ball up the field and score by shooting into the opponent’s goal. With quick passes, sharp footwork, and strong communication, lacrosse is as much about strategy as it is about athleticism.
Our Women’s Lacrosse team is open to all — whether you’ve played before or are completely new to the game. We offer regular training, friendly and competitive matches, and plenty of chances to develop your skills and fitness in a supportive environment. Off the pitch, we’re a tight-knit and social squad who love to welcome new faces. Join us — it’s more than just a sport, it’s a team you’ll be proud to be part of.

We are the LJMU Women’s Lacrosse Club, proudly competing in the British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) league. Our Women's 1st team is determined to make the 2024/25 season our best yet, and we want you to be part of that journey. Whether you're a complete beginner or have years of experience, everyone is welcome to come along to our taster sessions and try something new. Lacrosse is a fast-paced team sport played with ten players on each side, where we pass and catch the ball using our sticks and aim to score in the opponent’s goal. Even if you're not ready to compete right away, you can still train, develop new skills, and have loads of fun along the way.
We train every Tuesday from 7:00 to 8:30 pm at North Liverpool Academy in Everton, which is easily accessible by the 17 or 17A bus from the city centre. Home fixtures are held at a venue to be confirmed, while away matches vary depending on the North West university we’re playing against. And of course, our socials take place every Wednesday night—giving everyone a chance to bond, celebrate wins, or just enjoy a good night out together.
Joining the LJMU Women’s Lacrosse team is about so much more than just the sport. We’re a tight-knit group who support each other both on and off the pitch. From the excitement of competition to the shared highs and lows, we’re there for each other every step of the way. You’ll build some of your best friendships through this club and become part of the wider LJMU sports community. And to top it all off, we round off the year with an unforgettable trip to Croatia—a week of sunshine, celebration, and chaos with university sports teams from across the UK. If you want a university experience full of team spirit, unforgettable memories, and a whole lot of fun, this is the place for you.
Each sports club is led by a student committee responsible for running the club, organising activities, and representing members. The committee is chaired by the Club Captain, with support from other elected roles.
