Men’s Hockey is a fast-paced and skilful team sport that blends athleticism, strategy, and
sharp stick work. Played on a pitch with 11 players on each side, the goal is to outplay your opponents and score by hitting the ball into the net. With quick passes, powerful shots, and tactical movement, hockey is a game that demands teamwork, fitness, and focus.
Our Men’s Hockey team welcomes players of all levels — whether you’ve played competitively or are completely new to the sport. It’s a fantastic way to develop coordination, boost your fitness, and be part of a committed and ambitious squad. We train regularly, compete in student leagues and tournaments, and enjoy a strong social side too, with team events and nights out throughout the year. Join us — it’s more than a game, it’s a brotherhood.

Raised £2605 for Movember Charity, JMSU Coach of the Year Nominee & Both Teams Placed Top 3 in their respective BUCS League - Men's Northern Tier 2 and Tier 3.
About Us
Our Men’s Hockey Club is a competitive, inclusive, and social team that trains every Monday and competes weekly in the BUCS League and Cup competitions on Wednesdays. Our 1st XI is set to compete in Division 2A, with our 2nd XI in Division 3A, promising an exciting season ahead across two highly competitive leagues. Proudly raised the third-highest amount of money for the Movember charity at JMSU. Whether you’re an experienced player or have never picked up a stick before, we welcome all abilities and levels of enthusiasm.

Monday 22nd September - Trial Day One at St Edward’s College 19:30-21:00. Arrive by Merseytravel Bus 12, 13 or 15.
Wednesday 24th September - Trial Day Two at Formby Hockey Club 14:30-16:30. Arrive by Merseyrail from Liverpool Central to Freshfield (Direction Southport).
Wednesday 24th September - First Social of the Year.
Monday 29th September - Trial Day Three at St Edward’s College 19:30-21:00. Arrive by Merseytravel Bus 12, 13 or 15.

Each sports club is led by a student committee responsible for running the club, organising activities, and representing members. The committee is chaired by the Club Captain, with support from other elected roles.
