The LJMU Forensic Science Society brings together students with a passion for investigation, science, and discovery. Whether you study forensics or just love true crime and CSI-style mysteries, this is your chance to explore the fascinating world of forensic science in a fun and engaging way.
The Forensic Science Society is a community for anyone interested in the science behind solving crimes. We host a range of events throughout the year — from guest lectures and practical workshops to crime scene simulations and social nights. Our aim is to enhance your understanding of forensic science while helping you meet others who share your curiosity and enthusiasm for the field.
You don’t need to be a forensic science student to join — we welcome anyone with an interest in the topic and a love for learning something new.
Who can join? All LJMU students — no forensic background required!
When we meet: Regular workshops, talks, and socials (schedule shared each term)
Where: On campus laboratories, event spaces and SLB
Extras: Guest speakers, mock crime scenes, career networking, and social events
Joining the Forensic Science Society gives you the chance to go beyond the classroom — to get hands-on experience, connect with professionals, and dive deeper into the science of investigation. You’ll develop new skills, gain insight into real-world forensics, and make friends who share your fascination with uncovering the truth. Whether you’re pursuing a career in the field or just love solving mysteries, this society is the perfect place to explore your interests.
Each society is led by a student committee responsible for running the society, organising activities, and representing its members. The committee is chaired by the Society President, with support from other elected roles.
