LJMU Film Society is a vibrant community dedicated to bringing together students who share a passion for cinema—whether you’re a casual film lover, a budding filmmaker, or somewhere in between. We offer a diverse range of opportunities to explore, discuss, and create within the world of film.
The LJMU Film Society is your go-to place if you live and breathe movies or have a keen interest in making films yourself. Open to all students regardless of course, we celebrate every aspect of cinema, from the most pretentious and prestigious cinema to cheesy romcoms to the dumbest action films you've ever seen.
Our society welcomes cinephiles eager to watch and discuss films as well as those who know absolutely nothing.

We offer regular film screenings with llively discussions, quizzes, and pub socials that encourage members to engage with cinema however they want to. With screenings chosen by our president and our members!
Screenings are every Tuesday and Thursday in room 204 in the Student Life Building! Meetings start at 6pm but feel free to come early or late (the films are usually start playing at 20 past 6 with exceptions being if the film is on the longer side)
Best of all, membership is completely free!
Our screenings take place weekly on Tuesdays at 6 PM in the Student Life Building, providing a consistent space to gather and connect. We're planning to have monthly workshops, and biweekly social events. These will be announced well in advance on Instagram, feel free to contact us if you want more information. The screenings will be in monthly programs of different genres and focuses.

Each society is led by a student committee responsible for running the society, organising activities, and representing its members. The committee is chaired by the Society President, with support from other elected roles.
