The LJMU Film Society is your go-to place if you live and breathe movies or have a keen interest in making films yourself. Open to all students regardless of course, we celebrate every aspect of cinema, from timeless classics to contemporary masterpieces. Our society welcomes cinephiles eager to deepen their appreciation of film as an art form, as well as student filmmakers looking for a platform to collaborate and develop their craft. We offer regular film screenings, lively discussions, quizzes, and film-themed games that encourage members to engage with cinema in fun and interactive ways. Beyond the screen, we organize filmmaking projects and workshops, giving members hands-on experience with professional equipment and creative crews. Whether you want to make friends who share your love of film or learn more about the filmmaking process, we provide a supportive and inspiring environment where creativity thrives. Best of all, membership is completely free!

Our core activities take place weekly on Tuesdays at 6 PM in the Student Life Building, providing a consistent space to gather and connect. Any special events or trips outside of the SLB are announced well in advance to give all members time to plan. We encourage everyone to stay connected through our social media channels and mailing list for updates on screenings, workshops, and special outings.
