About Us

Feminist society: a group for the public support of women's rights and equality for all.

LJMU Feminist Society is an all-inclusive society welcoming people of any sex/gender and from any background. We aim to host meetings, socials, and general gatherings, where we can discuss topics and issues around feminism. These gatherings aim to liberate, build confidence and support each other in a safe environment. Also, to make friends, laugh, watch documentaries and engage in meaningful discussion. If you feel passionate about gender equality and want to come and make new friends, this is the society for you!

Key Information (When, Where, and How Often We Meet)

Meeting Dates & Times:

Usually, once a week on Monday evenings in Student Life Building, starting 6/7 pm. Socials will be later in the week.

Why Should You Join Us?

All students are encouraged to join the feminist society, regardless of political or religious views. It is essential to ensure a wide range of students attend for a richer discussion considering all backgrounds and perspectives. Students interested in learning more about feminism and gender equality are invited to join. The meetings will range from issues such as gendered violence, pornography & sex work, LGBTQIA+ issues, and representation of women within popular culture.

As a society, we've participated in protests, fundraising events, and socials and partnered with charities such as Refugee Women Connect and Period Project Merseyside. We hope to continue these activities in the future with new members!

Societies are an excellent way to meet people, especially as new students at LJMU, and open discussions about our society.

We look forward to meeting new members and would love to hear your thoughts and opinions in future meetings!
