The LJMU DJ & Dance Music Society is your gateway to the world of electronic music culture, DJing skills, and Liverpool’s thriving underground scene. We bring together students who share a passion for raves, beats, and everything electronic—whether you’re an aspiring DJ, a seasoned turntablist, a music producer, or simply someone who loves to vibe with good tunes and like-minded people.
At the heart of the LJMU Dance Music & DJ Society is a shared love for electronic music and a desire to connect, learn, and grow within this exciting culture. We provide an inclusive and supportive environment where members can develop technical DJ skills on professional, club-standard equipment and dive into the rich history and modern evolution of electronic music genres. Our meetings take place at the iconic Kazimier Gardens, a social bar and music hub in the heart of Liverpool, offering the perfect backdrop to learn, share, and enjoy music together. Whether you want to master the decks, understand production techniques, or just chill with fellow electronic music fans, our society welcomes you warmly. We also celebrate and support electronic music producers, offering them chances to develop their craft and showcase their work to a wider audience.
Our meetings happen regularly at Kazimier Gardens, located at 32 Seel Street, Liverpool—a well-known social venue and bar open to all members and guests. Sessions are a mix of hands-on DJ education, featuring open decks where you can practice and perform on professional-grade club equipment, as well as casual social time to connect with others who share your passion. Stay up to date on meeting dates, times, and special events by following our social media channels, where we post the latest info about workshops, masterclasses, and opportunities to get involved in Liverpool’s music circuit.
Joining the LJMU Dance Music & DJ Society offers you exclusive access to professional DJ equipment and expert-led masterclasses that help you develop your craft. As a member, you’ll benefit from discounted entry to underground music events across Liverpool, creating a direct pathway into the city’s vibrant electronic music scene. This is an incredible chance to learn from experienced resident DJs and published producers, get hands-on experience with live performances, and even grow your profile through podcasts and showcases.
