Whether you’re a coding pro, a casual tech enthusiast, or just curious about the digital world, the JMSU Computer Science Society is the place to explore ideas, build skills, and connect with like-minded people. From coding challenges to gaming nights, workshops to socials, we make tech fun, accessible, and collaborative.
The Computer Science Society brings together students who share an interest in computing, technology, and problem-solving. We run a mix of academic and social activities, including coding workshops, hackathons, talks from industry professionals, and casual meet-ups. No matter your experience level — beginner, hobbyist, or future software engineer — you’ll find a welcoming community where you can learn, collaborate, and have fun.
We’re relaunching the Computer Science Society from the ground up. This year marks a fresh start—with new ideas, new energy, and a clear plan for regular meet-ups, socials, workshops, and industry-focused events.
Whether you’re coming every week or just dropping in when you can, you’ll always be welcome.
Joining the Computer Science Society means joining a network of students passionate about innovation, creativity, and technology. You’ll get the chance to sharpen your coding skills, explore new tools, and gain insights into the tech industry, all while making friends and having a great time. Whether you want to learn, lead projects, or just enjoy the social side, there’s a space for you here.
Each society is led by a student committee responsible for running the society, organising activities, and representing its members. The committee is chaired by the Society President, with support from other elected roles.
