The Civil and Construction Society is dedicated to bringing together students passionate
about the built environment. Whether you’re studying civil engineering, construction management, or related fields, this society offers a platform to connect academic learning with real-world industry experience, networking, and career development.
The Civil & Construction Society aims to bring together students who share an interest in construction, architecture, engineering, and the wider built environment.
Throughout the year we'll organise site visits, talks from industry professionals, social events, and other activities that help members develop their knowledge, build confidence, and form genuine friendships. Whether you're looking to expand your professional network, meet new people, or simply get more involved in university life, you'll find a welcoming place here.
• Open to all students with an interest in construction, architecture, and the built environment.
• Free to join.
• Regular social events, site visits, guest speakers, and networking opportunities.
• Welcoming, inclusive, and student-led.
• Follow our Instagram @ljmu.construction.soc to stay up to date with events, opportunities, and announcements.
Whether you're studying Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or simply have an interest in the built environment, our society is for you. We aim to provide opportunities to meet like-minded students, gain insights from industry professionals, visit real projects, and enjoy social events that help build lasting friendships. Join a welcoming community where enthusiasm and a willingness to get involved matter more than your experience.
Each society is led by a student committee responsible for running the society, organising activities, and representing its members. The committee is chaired by the Society President, with support from other elected roles.
