The Business Society is your go-to student community at LJMU for making connections,
gaining real-world insights, and exploring all things business. Whether you’re studying it, starting a side hustle, or just curious about the corporate world—we’re here to inspire, support, and grow with you.
The LJMU Business Society is a student-led group focused on building a powerful, supportive network for the next generation of business leaders. We’re open to anyone with an interest in the world of business—whether you’re deep into your degree, starting your own venture, or just looking to understand more about how businesses work in the real world.
Our mission is to create a space where students can connect, learn, and grow together—academically, professionally, and personally. From startup talks and business workshops to panel events and casual meetups, we’re here to help you level up your knowledge, grow your confidence, and expand your network. Think of it as your inside track to everything business, made by students, for students.
Our events and meetings take place regularly throughout the academic year and are designed to be practical, inspiring, and inclusive. These might include:
Follow us on Instagram to stay in the loop with announcements, opportunities, and event invites. Whether you can come to every event or just pop in now and then, you’re always welcome.
The Business Society is more than just a campus group—it’s a launchpad. You’ll get the chance to meet like-minded students, gain insight from people already working in the industry, and sharpen your academic and professional skills in a relaxed, supportive environment.
If you’re an aspiring entrepreneur, we’ll help you explore your ideas. If you’re a business student, we’ll complement your studies with real-world context. And if you're simply curious? We’ll help you find your spark. Plus, it’s a great excuse to meet new people, boost your CV, and feel more confident stepping into your future career.
Each society is led by a student committee responsible for running the society, organising activities, and representing its members. The committee is chaired by the Society President, with support from other elected roles.
