NSS results: JMSU one of top five students' unions in the north west!

It’s official - JMSU has been ranked in the top five students’ unions in north-west England in this years’ National Student Survey (NSS) results.

 

Final year students across institutions are invited to complete the NSS and provide feedback about their course at University - rating the likes of teaching quality, student community and IT facilities – and the results are used to drive further improvements to the student experience.
When questions turn to individuals experiences of their students’ union, 74.5% of LJMU students agreed that JMSU represents their academic interests – a whopping 22.96 percentage increase on last years’ result of 51.56%, taking JMSU sailing passed the 70.5% benchmark average. Results at a University level were equally positive as it scored above the Office for Students benchmark in 26 out of 27 questions. You can read more about this on LJMU's website.

 

On a national level, JMSU ranked 37 out of more than 125 higher education providers.

Shaquita Corry, JMSU Vice President for Education, said: “We are absolutely delighted to see such brilliant results and learn that LJMU students are satisfied with us as a union. We knew we had work to do after last year and so we have put considerable effort into our offer over the last twelve months – and these results are proof that hard work pays off.

 

“The year ahead with see us invest even further into our student voice by adding more staff resource, gathering more student feedback and improving our academic representation provisions. Watch this space!
