Moore Student Radio headed to the Student Radio Amplify Awards 2026 in Salford on 14 May and returned home with an incredible eight awards, making it one of the biggest nights in the station’s history.
Supported by Global, the Amplify Awards celebrate the very best in student broadcasting from across the UK. Winning even one Gold Award is considered a huge achievement in student radio, so for MSR to take home four Golds in one night is nothing short of outstanding. The station’s success is a reflection of the creativity, ambition, and dedication shown by everyone involved throughout the year.
From fundraising campaigns and charity challenges to major collaborative projects, the awards recognised an unforgettable year for MSR both on and off air. The station’s achievements also attracted attention from leading figures across the radio and entertainment industry, many of whom praised the continued growth and success of Moore Student Radio during the event. Their support highlights the growing national reputation of the station and the impact MSR is having within student media.
This latest success firmly cements Moore Student Radio as one of the country’s leading student stations and showcases the incredible talent of LJMU students!
Jack Bostock (Station Manager and LJMU Student) said:
"I am incredibly proud of what Moore Student Radio achieved at this year’s Student Radio Conference in Salford. Walking away with 8 Amplify Awards is a testament to the hard work, creativity, and late nights our team puts in behind the mic and the mixing desk.
I am surrounded by such a brilliant team of individuals, and this success truly belongs to all of them. However, we couldn't have reached this milestone without the unwavering support of both JMSU and LJMU, who provide the platform for us to grow.
While university life often places a heavy emphasis on sports, I hope these awards showcase that success comes in many forms. Societies like Moore Student Radio are more than just a hobby, they are vital launchpads for successful careers in the creative industries. This win proves that our student voices are some of the strongest in the country."
While live shows are taking a well-earned summer break, listeners can still enjoy music from MSR throughout the holidays. The station will return in September for Freshers and the start of another exciting academic year!
Students interested in getting involved can meet the team at Freshers Fair or drop MSR a message on Instagram.
