Here at JMSU, we are here to help provide opportunities for students and alumni of LJMU - whether that's helping you find relevant work experience, getting some crucial academic support, or finding lifelong friends at university. Here are some of the ways you can make friends at JMSU this International Day of Friendship:

Attend a JMSU event -

We offer a year-round schedule of events for students across the university to try out new things and make new friends. Students across campus often feel isolated and lonely when coming to university solo, we want to make sure students know where to go to find likeminded people to make friends with. Our spaces are fun, inviting, and safe for people with various different likes and interests, and we are sure you will find someone who's right up your street. P.S... We will be launching our Freshers schedule very soon, so make sure to keep an eye out for what's to come! You never know, you might bump into your new bestie at a JMSU event.

Join a Student Group -

We have over 200 different sports or societies for you to get involved in. From Pokémon to Pole Dancing, Rugby to E-Racing, Netball to Noodle Soc - we have it all! Sports and Societies are great ways to get stuck into university life, try out new hobbies or indulge in current interests with likeminded students. They offer the opportunity to meet regularly (or just when you have the time!) and you can commit as much or as little as you want. They are fun spaces to enjoy life outside of your studies and can be beneficial for overall student mental health and wellbeing. Whether you're in your first or final year at LJMU, you are welcome to join a sport or society at any time!

Join a Student Community -

Our Student Communities provide a platform for you to find other likeminded people at LJMU. Like sports and societies, they are student-led groups that aim to empower others, help JMSU improve student experience, build a sense of belonging at university and to improve liberation, equality, and inclusion. Each community group hosts events, makes positive change, and most of all provides the opportunity for students to have fun at university.
