Volunteer Kitchen Assistant

Do you have a spare 4 hours a week to lend a helping hand to you local Hospice? If so, why not join our team of Kitchen Assistant's? 

As a Volunteer working as part of our Catering Team you will be required to help by performing a range of kitchen activities which will include basic food preparation, sandwich making, cleaning of work areas, loading and emptying the dishwasher, arranging crockery and cutlery, maintaining the beverage station and plating up lunches.

We would like you to, along with one of our team members meet patients, take lunch and tea time orders (training will be ongoing regarding understanding dietary requirements) and generally be considerate and accommodating to their needs, and those of their family and friends. 

This is a sociable role working alongside our lovely catering team.

Our main aim is to provide our patients with the best experience we can offer, with both our food and service.

Key responsibilities

1. To support the catering team in food preparation. 2. To take direction from Catering Manager/kitchen staff regarding kitchen duties. 3. To ensure work areas are clean. 4. Maintain the beverage station. 5. Take patients lunch and tea time meal orders. 6. Provide our patients with the best experience we can offer, with both our food and service. 7. Any other general duties as required
