Volunteer to bring literacy to life for little ones

Literacy changes everything

The National Literacy Trust supports families with young children in Liverpool to help them develop the literacy skills they need to get the most out of life. We need local people to share that literacy is for everyone, and to bring this to life across the community through events and activities for children aged 0–5.

We call our volunteers Literacy Champions, not because they have to be the best at literacy, but because they understand that it matters and want to make a difference.

Volunteering might involve:
• Supporting at local literacy-inspired events and activities.
• Gifting or hiding books in the community for little ones to find.
• Inspiring families to chat, play and read together every day.
• Being part of a team, sharing ideas and much more.
