Disabled Living is a registered charity dedicated to supporting people of all ages with disabilities and additional needs across the whole of the UK.
As part of our work we also organise the Kidz to Adultz events which were established in 2001. These are large-scale exhibitions and a fantastic opportunity for visitors to explore a wide variety of equipment, products and services, all tailored to support children and young adults with disabilities and additional needs. Held in different locations across the UK, these events are all about bringing together families, parents, carers, and professionals in a fun, welcoming environment, and we always make sure there’s something exciting for the children too! Best of all, entry is completely free for visitors.
Alongside the exhibition, we offer a full schedule of free CPD and educational seminars covering a whole range of hot topics, helping professionals enhance their CPD, and for parents and carers to gather essential advice and guidance from experts in the field, helping them make informed decisions and get the support they really need.

The event are more than just an exhibition; we’re a community of all ages with disabilities and additional needs and those who care for them. Our goal is to create an inclusive and supportive environment to discover the latest products and services, gain insights from industry experts and make lasting connections.
We anticipate around 2,000+ visitors throughout the day (professionals, parents, carers and the children and young adults) and we are currently looking for a number of volunteers to support us with the following tasks:
2x Reception - 8.30am to 3.30pm approx.
To assist with digital registration: welcoming visitors, checking visitors in on an iPad, handing out showguides and directing visitors to toilets, exhibition hall, seminar rooms, etc. Training will be given, and you will be working alongside our staff for guidance.
2x Reception - 8.30am to 3.30pm approx.
To assist with manual registration: welcoming visitors, assisting with filling out manual registration slips, handing out showguides and directing visitors to toilets, exhibition hall, seminar rooms, etc. Training will be given, and you will be working alongside our staff for guidance.
The tasks outlined above would be a great fit for students on an events related course, though this is not essential.
2x Seminar Rooms - 8.30am to 3.30pm approx (4 volunteers)
To assist in the seminar rooms: to do a very brief introduction of each speaker for each seminar presentation and would suit a confident speaker (a script will be provided), taking a headcount on the number of delegates in attendance for our statistics, being on hand to report any technical issues to the AV technicians. If any of the topics are of particular interest, we may be able to assign volunteers to a particular seminar room. Training and briefing will be given.
The seminar programme will be live on our website soon.
There is an opportunity to sit in on the seminar presentations and gain CPD credits for portfolios. This task would support those studying healthcare related topics, though this is not essential..
2x Marketing - 8.30am to 3.30pm approx.
To support our Marketing Team with photo publicity forms whilst circulating the event/hall. You will be working alongside our staff for guidance. This task would suit those studying events/marketing courses, though this is not essential.
2x Christmas Grotto - 8.30am to 3.30pm approx
To assist with the Christmas Grotto and support Santa, helping the children and young adults to choose their gifts and creating a welcoming and fun environment.
2x Fun & Features Area - 8.30am to 3.30pm approx
To assist with the promotion of the fun & features taking place, encouraging interaction, promoting next feature, etc.
Volunteers should arrive at the venue at 8.15am for a briefing and tour of the exhibition. We can be flexible on the finish time if this is an issue.
We would ask volunteers to wear a white tee-shirt, polo shirt or shirt and black, navy, blue or grey trousers or skirt and we will supply branded lanyards. Comfy shoes are a must.
In return for your support at the event, we will allocate a £15 lunch allowance, a maximum of £10 travel expenses and a certificate of attendance for your CPD portfolio.
