The LJMU Architecture Society is a student-led community that brings together future architects, designers, and creatives from across all year groups. We create spaces beyond the studio to connect, collaborate, and celebrate architecture in its many forms — from sketchbooks to skylines, and everything in between.
The Architecture Society is run by passionate students from the School of Architecture who want to enrich the student experience beyond lectures and deadlines. Our goal is to foster a vibrant and supportive community that shares a love for design, built environments, and innovative thinking.
We host a variety of events throughout the year — including socials, design workshops, site visits, portfolio reviews, exhibitions, and guest lectures from professionals across the industry. These events are designed not just to inspire, but to connect students across different years, build networks, and celebrate the creativity that defines our discipline.
Whether you're here to expand your professional horizons or just want to unwind with peers who understand the grind of studio life, the Architecture Society offers something for everyone.
We don’t meet on a strict weekly schedule — instead, we organise a wide range of events throughout the academic year, from academic enrichment to relaxed socials.
Architecture can be demanding, but you don’t have to go through it alone. The Architecture Society gives you the chance to meet students from other year groups, exchange ideas, learn from guest speakers, and experience architecture beyond the classroom.
It’s also a great way to make lasting friendships, attend exciting events, and develop your voice as a creative professional. Whether you're in your first year or final year, this is your platform to grow, express, and connect with others who share your vision.
Each society is led by a student committee responsible for running the society, organising activities, and representing its members. The committee is chaired by the Society President, with support from other elected roles.
