The LJMU Arab Society is a student-led cultural society dedicated to fostering unity, pride, and connection within the Arab community — and beyond. Our goal is to provide a welcoming space where students can celebrate the diversity and beauty of Arab heritage while building friendships, sharing stories, and creating unforgettable experiences together.

About Us

Welcome to the LJMU Arab Society — a society built on unity, pride, and celebration. We are here to honour the incredible richness of Arab culture in all its forms — from our vibrant traditions and regional differences to the shared values that unite us.

This society was created with one core belief: all Arabs are one. Whether you're from North Africa, the Middle East, or the Gulf, this is your space to feel at home. We celebrate our languages, dialects, food, faith, and customs — while always welcoming non-Arab friends who want to learn, experience, and join in.

From cultural nights and charity dinners to relaxed meet-ups and collaborations with other student groups, everything we do is rooted in community, identity, and giving back. As a non-profit society, all proceeds from our events go directly to charitable causes, so your participation also helps make a positive impact beyond campus.

Have an idea? Want to collaborate? We’d love to hear from you!

Key Information

Our events are announced regularly — from socials and cultural celebrations to charity fundraisers, games nights, and more. To stay connected and be the first to know what’s happening, make sure you join us online.

We don’t meet at fixed times every week — instead, we organise a variety of events throughout the month, so there's always something exciting around the corner.

Why Us?

Because you deserve a space where your culture is not only welcomed, but celebrated. Whether you’re looking to meet fellow Arab students, reconnect with your roots, enjoy authentic cuisine, or simply be part of a proud and supportive community, you’ll find your place with us.

And if you’re not Arab? You’re still more than welcome. Join us to discover our music, food, language, and customs firsthand. We’re open to everyone — because sharing culture is what brings us all closer together.

Committee

Each society is led by a student committee responsible for running the society, organising activities, and representing its members. The committee is chaired by the Society President, with support from other elected roles.
