You may have seen or taken part in our Make It Happen weeks that have just taken place – this is when we come out on to campus and ask you to vote on important issues throughout the year so that we can represent you!
The questions we asked were:
At LJMU Welcome Fair at St. George’s Hall and our Freshers’ Fair at the ACC, we asked you to put a token in to the tube for the academic priority you find most important or relevant to you and your course.
RESULTS:
Blackboard - including utilising it effectively – 168 votes
Communication - regarding course information, such as cancellations and alterations – 187 votes
Group Work – including management of, as well as the assessment and feedback of group work 41 votes
IT access and suitability – including availability, as well as available software – 100 votes
Placements – including timetables, allocation, availability of information and support – 585 votes
Personal Tutors – including availability of and support offered – 293 votes
Teaching Quality – including engaging students, staff student ratios and contact time – 546 votes
We used masks and voting slips at our mini SU locations across campus to get your votes, here were the candidates:

Former Labour minister and undersecretary for the UN, long time campaigner and advocate on human rights, social justice and equality issues
Margaret Aspinall
Hillsborough campaigner who fought tirelessly for a quarter of a century to bring justice to victims of the disaster
Gary Everett
Artistic Director behind innovative Liverpool-based arts festival Homotopia, celebrating the city's diverse communities & LGBT culture
Amy Jackson
Winner of Miss Liverpool in 2010, Jackson gained international fame as a successful Bollywood actress despite having no acting experience
The winning candidate achieved 737 out of 1,477 votes!
