But, it can be daunting coming to a new or unfamiliar city. If you're not quite sure where to start, we've got you covered. Here are some of our students' favourite places to go and what's on offer there.
Take a wander down Bold Street and you'll be sure to find what you're looking for. From independent coffee shops like Bold Street coffee, to award-winning chains such as Mowgli, book shops like News from Nowhere to second-hand vintage clothing shops such as Resurrection, Bold Street has got it all. It's super close to our Mount Pleasant campus, too!
Home to the world-famous Cavern Club, Matthew Street is an iconic street situated right in the centre of Liverpool. Here you will always find bars and restaurants playing live music, hosting live performances and drag shows. It's also directly behind the shops of Liverpool One, so you can find anything you need in a matter of minutes.
Liverpool's creative district offers a variety of indepedent and exciting venues that are bound to kick off your night with a bang. From Ghetto Golf to Peaky Blinders bar, the Baltic Market to the Yellow Submarine bar, you will have an experience like no other. Looking for a Mamma Mia-themed party? Fancy dress rave? Events spaces such as Camp and Furnace and Kitchen Street host a whole load of events that are always exciting and innovative. Here you'll also find creative and famous street art by local artists, like the Iconic Liver Bird's wings by Paul Curtis.
Here you will find an array of museums such as The Tate art museum, Maritime museum, International Slave museum and more. As well as it's amazing sight-seeing offer, you can get stuck in with some water sports inside the dock, go on the famous Ferry 'Cross the Mersey and even have dinner on a barge. The Albert Dock is sure to give you the best experience Liverpool has to offer.
