As Freshers approaches, we want to assure our students that our schedule has been designed for students from all backgrounds, we want to make our spaces and activities are as inclusive and positive as possible. We asked students what their experience at Freshers 2021 was like and have taken their feedback onboard. Over the last 12 months, we have worked hard with students, officers and university services to make sure that we are offering events for all students, so they can find likeminded people and make friends for life. We know that Freshers is heavily associated with partying, but we want to make sure that this is not the only event-type on offer. Here are some of our amazing events that could tick your box...
We have teamed up with Wirral Unplugged to bring you an amazing child-friendly event that you can bring little ones to. An exciting and innovative way to learn for both adults and children.
On World Sign Languages day, we have some workshops in partnership with Deaf Resource Course to learn about sign language, deaf culture and the basics to signing.
We can't wait to celebrate with a Traditional Irish Breakfast and performers event that will be sure to get you ready for the day ahead.
We can't wait to welcome you and help you meet new people by enjoying an afternoon filled with cake, treats and games to ease you into University life.
If you have a passion for the environment, this event is the one for you. Practise your gardening skills and help out the local community by getting involved with our Growing Project activities.
This is the perfect event for our mature students to meet new friends, play some board games and find out more about JMSU.
We have so many more events such as Give It a Go that you can get crafty, as well as sports experiences that you can try out and get involved with, as well as outer-city trips to Go Ape and Blackpool Pleasure Beach.
If you are unsure about booking onto any events at JMSU, please get in touch and we will make your experience as comfortable as possible. We're here to help you make the most out of your university experience.
