About Us

Are you neurodivergent, an ally wishing to be supportive, or someone interested in learning more about neurodiversity? If so, then please join the Neurodiverse Society! This is the best society for neurodivergent students to meet fellow neurodivergent students, make friends, and have fun with activities, socials, and just hanging out or chatting.

Neurodiversity includes conditions like autism, ADHD, Tourette's Syndrome, anxiety disorders, dyslexia, and several others. Allies are also welcome to join the society, attend socials, and learn about neurodiversity, including discussing it.

We are also a completely democratic and fair society, so all members can have an equal say!

Key Information (When, Where, and How Often We Meet)

We aim to meet up every Thursday in the Student Life Building unless stated otherwise (this can also change if members want it to). We haven't got a permenant room yet, so please make sure to check the Instagram page or WhatsApp group to see where we will meet!

Why Should You Join Us?

If you're a neurodivergent student looking for a place where you can be comfortable, accepted, and meet new people, then this society is for you! We will have many socials throughout the academic year and make sure that everyone is content. We also will take into account people's neurodiversities when planning to go out anywhere, such as taking into account sensory issues. Socials may vary from simply being in the Student Life Building to going out somewhere depending on what people want.

This society is a safe space for neurodivergent students where they can feel safe, accepted, and wanted. We are a supportive society that aims to support neurodivergent students through university, including with issues regarding ableism and discrimination. We are not just a simple fun society, but also a safe space for all neurodivergent students, whether they have autism, ADHD, OCD, Tourette's Syndrome, or anything else. We are completely accepting and will also help neurodiverse students to feel a sense of community. The Neurodiverse Society aims to be a safe space and we will try to raise more awareness of ableism in university, which will involve fighting for the rights of all neurodiverse students!

We strongly believe in social justice, including within the university, so we will always speak up and fight for the rights of neurodiverse and disabled students at LJMU!
