Sadly, this society has become inactive and is in need of committee members to take over it for next year. Could you be the ideal committee member?

Being a committee member means organising the sessions and setting up events, trips, challenges and many more. It looks amazing on your CV and is a great way to make friends and improve your confidence.

SWSS is the student wing of Britain's largest revolutionary socialist organistation, the Socialist Workers Party. We are the socialist group on campus, fighting against all forms of oppression and exploitation. We believe in a combination of marxist theory and political activism. 

Key Information (When, Where and How Often We Meet)

We hold weekly meetings on wide-ranging issues. Previous meetings have included 'Marxism and Mental Distress', 'Let's Talk About Sex: Marxism and Sexual Liberation' and 'Is Revolution Possible in the 21st Century?'. These are a great opportunity to learn about current issues and history as well as to discuss politics with other students.

Why Should You Join Us?

We stand for the liberation of Palestine, system change not climate change, trans rights and LGBT+ and womens liberation and against the Tories, racism and fascism. We are involved in numerous campaigns around these issues, both on campus and in the city, such as marches against climate change, UCU solidarity and anti-racist actions.
