LJMU Craft Society is a welcoming community for anyone passionate about crafting or

curious to learn new creative skills. Whether you’re a complete beginner or an experienced maker, we offer a relaxed space to explore a variety of crafts, share ideas, and connect with fellow crafters.

About Us

Welcome to LJMU Craft Society — a vibrant group united by a love for creativity and hands-on crafting! Our members enjoy a wide range of activities including crocheting, knitting, sewing, painting, cross-stitch, and many more artistic pursuits. We meet regularly in the Student Life Building, where you can immerse yourself in crafting projects while chatting and socialising in a friendly, supportive environment.

To inspire creativity and broaden your skills, we also run workshops on different craft techniques such as crochet, card making, and air-drying clay modelling. These workshops are perfect opportunities to try something new or refine your abilities in a fun and interactive way. No matter your experience level or style, everyone is warmly invited to join and contribute their unique touch to our creative community.

Key Information

Our main gatherings take place weekly on Monday evenings from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm in the Student Life Building. These sessions provide a consistent and convenient time to come together, work on personal or group projects, and exchange tips and inspiration.

Alongside our weekly meetups, workshops are scheduled periodically throughout the year, offering hands-on lessons to explore specific crafts in more depth. All event details, updates, and special sessions are shared via our social media channels and email newsletters to keep members in the loop.

Why Us?

Crafting is more than just making things — it’s a wonderful way to unwind, express yourself, and connect with like-minded people. By joining LJMU Craft Society, you’ll find a friendly and inclusive space to nurture your creativity, whether you’re working on your own projects or learning new skills together.

For new students, our society is a fantastic way to meet people from across the university, gain helpful advice from experienced crafters, and make your first year more enjoyable and creative. Plus, trying out different crafts in our workshops can be a refreshing break from studies and a source of lasting hobbies.

We pride ourselves on being a welcoming and supportive community that celebrates creativity in all its forms — we can’t wait to see what you’ll create with us!

Committee

Each society is led by a student committee responsible for running the society, organising activities, and representing its members. The committee is chaired by the Society President, with support from other elected roles.
